With spring finally here in Calgary, I’ve been on the look out for a new pair of running shoes. I’ve been wearing my Nike Free Runs all winter at the gym, sometimes switching back to my old Asics for treadmill intervals. As much as I love the Free Runs (they are SO comfortable), I don’t find they give me the support I need for running, or any high intensity cardio classes that require jumping and lateral movements.

I have always been a fan of Asics, but I find they’re not always a versatile shoe for doing anything else but long-distance runs- just a little too rigid. However, I am pleased to say that I’ve found a happy medium between total support and extreme comfort- the Asics Gel-Neo33. Since my soles pronate slightly, the extra support is very necessary. I love what they’ve done with their basic design.
After trying them out on the Stairmaster, treadmill, elliptical, group fitness, and outdoor running, I can safely say these were a fantastic find for my feet!

I really liked the Nike Lunarglides as well, but they didn’t feel as great on my feet as the Neos do, as their sole support is a bit different.
