After much deliberation, I finally decided upon my vitamin supplement dilemma this week.
There seems to be too much contradictory research on calcium absorption lately, so I opted out of a calcium-magnesium supplement. I figure that I will focus on getting a little bit more in my diet instead. I am also still unsure about a multivitamin, so I decided I’d simply begin with Vitamin D and Omega 3 for now, as they are the two I feel most certain about.
Besides an hour walk, we didn’t get up to a whole lot around here today despite the fact that Adam had the day off. Catching up on some news & blog reading, etc. Lazy days like this are sometimes necessary and thoroughly enjoyable, though.

We had some spinach to finish off today, otherwise it would have had to been tossed out after today (I hate throwing out uneaten food. It makes me feel terrible). I wasn’t in the mood for a salad or cooking with it, so I threw it into a smoothie. Spinach is an excellent source of iron, vitamins A & K, and folate, among other nutrients, and I really should use it more frequently in my shakes; I just always forget about it!
Green Banana-Pear Smoothie
Banana- 1, small
Pear- 1, sliced
Spinach Leaves- 2 large handfuls
Almond Milk- 3/4 cup
Vanilla Yogurt- 1/4 cup
Honey- to taste/optional
Make sure to blend for about 1-minute to ensure that it’s not chunky. I really liked this smoothie. It was also very filling and tided me over for a few hours until dinner. Friday night take-out sushi partaaaaay. Or “take away” as they call it here in the land down under.

Yes folks, Friday nights aren’t quite what they used to be. Stiletto heels and martinis have been replaced by yoga pants and diaper changing marathons. It’s all good though; I definitely wouldn’t have it any other way. Thomas has had two consecutive nights of sleeping for 6 hours in a row. I know…YAAAY! Last night he slept from 9:30pm-3:30am, up for an hour, and then back to sleep until 8am. It was amazing, especially since his sleeping thus far has been pretty intermittent and keeping me exhausted most days. Here’s hoping the 3rd night’s a charm!
