Heyheyhey! It’s Ms. Kelly the Blogging Slacker checking in with a little weekend photo roundup (aka: the Saturday & Sunday Eat-a-Thon). Honestly, I mostly just basked in food-filled glory this weekend. It.was.awesome. Sometimes you just need to chow down, and that we did.
Breakfast 1: Smoked Salmon, Scrambled Eggs, Cheddar on Rye
I’ve been sprinkling my lattes with cacao powder or cinnamon lately.
Lunch: Grilled Cheese, Tomato, Spinach, Avocado Sandwich
Dinner 1: Sushi-Grade BBQ’d Tuna Steaks (Ginger & Chilli Marinade) and Salad
|Brunch at our friends’ Karen & Aaron’s house: Whole Wheat Pancakes and Fruit Salad
(This one was Adam’s gigantic pancake)
My only “restaurant” food of the weekend: latte and a spelt & walnut brownie
End result. It was the best treat!
Dinner 2: BBQ’d Red Snapper Fillet, Brown Rice, Salad
So yes. Besides plenty of feasting, I managed to get in one hot yoga session.
And on the entertainment front, I was actually up before the crack of dawn on Saturday.
I had been up at 3:30am with Thomas and just couldn’t get back to sleep. So, I made my way downstairs to entertain myself.
What better way to spend the wee hours of the morning than watching the American Idol finale?! hah! We don’t watch much television around here, so we only have the basic 20-some cable channels. This means that I have to PVR the delayed, condensed, 2.5 hour version of American Idol on Friday night. I admittedly was obsessed with this past season, so had actually been avoiding social media for a few days last week so that I wouldn’t hear the result (I am also fully aware of my nerd-level…).
I used to be a big AI fan, but stopped watching a few seasons ago when Simon Cowell left the judging panel. Anyway, after hearing that my main man Keith Urban was involved in the process, I was roped in for the long haul.
My up-close-and-personal moment with Keith Urban in 2009. Weeeeeee!
We also entertained ourselves with this Judd Apatow flick:
I don’t know if we were just overtired, but both Adam and I were dying of laughter watching this one. I haven’t seen a good comedy in awhile and thought this one was a good-er. Not the best for those offended by foul language or sensitive about turning 40! 😉 Otherwise, it was a great 2 hours of comic relief.
Well, that’s all I’ve got folks. Not the most wild weekend (are they ever anymore?), but we had fun nonetheless. My full belly and I are off to dreamland. Goodnight!
