Monday Monday

Oh my gosh, you guys! I don’t even know where to begin after being away/inconsistent for so long. I guess I’ll just jump right into things.

After a ridiculous flight back to Australia by myself with Thomas, we had a few days to recuperate last week. Then, because we are obviously crazy slightly over ambitions, we moved into a new home on Thursday. We were actually really under prepared, as I had been away right up until it was time to clean and pack up our old place. Thank goodness the man of the house is a hard worker! He was able to clean up and finish packing our previous house, while I unpacked and organized the new one and entertained the little guy. Husband of the year award, most def. Anyway, we are super excited to finally be in our new accommodations. As expats, we are only renting our properties here in Australia. Our last house was really great for a couple of adults, but knowing what we know now about having a baby, we wouldn’t choose it again. We found there were so many difficult aspects (unsafe balcony, open concept stairs, nursery on a different level, barely any storage space, questionable security, etc). Our lease was up, and the most perfect apartment became available. So we went for it, and couldn’t be happier.

One of the many aspects I love about our new home: the kitchen!

Monday has crept up quickly on us. Adam is back to work after taking a couple days off for the move, so Thomas & I made our way back to bootcamp this morning. After too many weeks to count of inconsistent exercise, it was definitely time.

Ummm…I almost died.

Well, that might be a slight exaggeration, buuut pretty close. It was a such a hard session, adding in the fact that I haven’t done resistance training in a long time. Anyway, I suppose I had to start somewhere! I think it’ll take a couple of weeks to get back into a groove, but it’s nice to have a routine again.

The rest of the day was spent unpacking and organizing our house, as well as a necessary optometrist appointment. I only have 1 contact lens left, and as you can tell by my prescription, I’m blind as a bat without them!

We still don’t have much food in our new place, but I was able to muster up a few snacks like these:

We just finished up some dinner (veggies, risotto, grilled chicken breast) and Adam & Thomas had some ‘man time’. Our little Bubs is fully sitting up on his own now! It’s so crazy how quickly he is growing and changing.

I’m finishing up this post while enjoying some trashy Australian reality television, which has seriously been missing from my life over the past year! The first season on the Bachelor AU! So far, so great!!! Any other Aussies watching this amazingness?

Well, there’s my Monday in a nutshell. Time to hit the sack…I never know when morning (i.e.: baby squeals) will commence. I hope your week is off to a great start!
