…And Then There Were Four

Last Thursday (October 30th), I was simply going about my day. Doctor’s appointment, cleaning/running errands, publishing a blog post, and going through the motions that come with being a current SAHM to a 20 month old. By mid-afternoon, we were both getting a little restless, so I decided to make a quick trip to the gym for a walk on the treadmill, some light stretching, and to let Thomas run around with the kids in the childcare centre for an hour. Little did I know, our average day was about to get a lot more exciting.

While on the treadmill, I started feeling some contractions. I just shrugged them off though, as I’d been having pre-labour ‘false alarms’ since about 37 weeks. Plus, my due date wasn’t for another 8 days.

However, as the evening progressed, the peaks and valleys of these contractions were becoming a little too familiar for comfort. Once thing led to another, and before I knew it, I was sitting in the labour & delivery ward.

Labour

Let’s just say that smile didn’t last much longer! However, it certainly reappeared several hours later.

A perfect little pumpkin arrived at 4:45am on October 31st, 2014, making Adam and I officially 2 for 2 on the holiday babies (Thomas was born on Valentine’s Day, 2013). Audrey Anne made a safe and early arrival, weighing 7 lbs 11 oz and measuring almost 21″. We are all doing very well and adjusting to our new life as a family of four. She is absolutely the sweetest little baby, and we are so blessed to have her in our lives.

I’ll try my best to frequent the blog as much as possible over the next couple of months, although it’ll be irregular. As you can probably imagine, having two kids under two will be slightly crazy for awhile. Make sure to subscribe to blog emails (in the side bar) or like the Femme Fitale Facebook page to keep up to date on any new posts! I’ll also be frequently Instagramming, so be sure to follow along on there as well.

Thanks for checking in! If you need me, I’ll be wrangling two little monsters and taking this all in, day by day.
