We enjoyed a lovely Labour Day long weekend over the past few days here in Australia. Adam and I decided it would be nice to get away for a couple of nights before our parenting duties double. In our 2+ years here in Brisbane, we’ve seen a fair bit of the Sunshine and Gold coasts, but one place we hadn’t spent any time was Byron Bay. A town renown for its beaches, backpackers and bohemian style, we had a great couple of days roaming around this little beachside gem. Our last mini getaway as a family of three!
So, I have some confessions…
I came home from the grocery store last week with a giant bag of sour cream and chives chips. Twice.
I have been eating way too much chocolate.
And waaaaay too much bread.
’ve been napping every day.
I’ve barely been teaching Body Attack and even turned down a permanent teaching role at my gym.
Last Thursday (October 30th), I was simply going about my day. Doctor’s appointment, cleaning/running errands, publishing a blog post, and going through the motions that come with being a current SAHM to a 20 month old. By mid-afternoon, we were both getting a little restless, so I decided to make a quick trip to the gym for a walk on the treadmill, some light stretching, and to let Thomas run around with the kids in the childcare centre for an hour. Little did I know, our average day was about to get a lot more exciting.
Oh, hello there! I’m not quite sure if logging into my account for the first time in a year is exciting or just plain awkward. My blogging hiatus has been lengthier than anticipated. MUCH lengthier. I guess with the arrival of our second child, a move across the planet, and the purchase of a new house, life got a bit busy.
It’s a little late in the game, but I’ve been awa from blogging for a bit and haven’t written much (if anything) about how my current pregnancy with Bubs the II is going. I’m currently sitting pretty at 33.5 weeks. Well, more like ‘sitting uncomfortably’, if I’m to be accurate in my description. It’s not a particularly momentous milestone week, but I figure that I might as well reflect a bit while I have the chance. Hard to believe that I only have about 6 weeks left in this journey. I should probably get my act together and start thinking about packing a hospital bag at some point, but with this second pregnancy, I have become
a bit a lot more relaxed in the whole “labour and newborn preparation” category.
Alright, you guys. Where is my Blogger of the Year nomination? Hah! I realize I’ve been MIA for months now when it comes to this little internet space, but I have good excuses, I swear!
Actually, I’ll just admit it. Sometimes in life, certain hobbies or pastimes have to give. In this case, blogging was one of them. I would never write and publish posts if I didn’t want to, or just for the sake of it…so I haven’t.
