We enjoyed a lovely Labour Day long weekend over the past few days here in Australia. Adam and I decided it would be nice to get away for a couple of nights before our parenting duties double. In our 2+ years here in Brisbane, we’ve seen a fair bit of the Sunshine and Gold coasts, but one place we hadn’t spent any time was Byron Bay. A town renown for its beaches, backpackers and bohemian style, we had a great couple of days roaming around this little beachside gem. Our last mini getaway as a family of three!
Hello from New Zealand! We are here on the South Island for a 9-day self-drive adventure, and are having a great time so far. The weather has been beautiful by most human standards, although it is very apparent that we have become acclimatized to the warm/hot, Australian weather. I’ve definitely been a bit chilly!
Alright, you guys. Where is my Blogger of the Year nomination? Hah! I realize I’ve been MIA for months now when it comes to this little internet space, but I have good excuses, I swear!
Actually, I’ll just admit it. Sometimes in life, certain hobbies or pastimes have to give. In this case, blogging was one of them. I would never write and publish posts if I didn’t want to, or just for the sake of it…so I haven’t.
It’s been four days since we’ve arrived home from New Zealand. We have a ‘bucket list’ of sorts for the things we want to do while living here in Australia, and visiting NZ has always been at the top.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time touring around the South Island. We would have loved to see the North as well, but with only 9 days, we simply couldn’t do it all. We also couldn’t participate in a lot of adventure activities as per the New Zealand travel norm. Just too difficult with a one year old! Instead, we clocked many hours in the car and several more hiking and touring around by foot; we saw so much in just over a week.
